Gary Valenciano (born August 6, 1964) is the 6th child of Vicente Valenciano, a Bicolano, and Grimilda Santiago Ortiz (a Puerto Rican woman of Italian descent)
Gary took his primary and secondary studies in La Salle Greenhills, where during his high school days, joined the musical group Kundirana.
Gary launched his career in singing and show business on May 13, 1983.[3] He first appeared as a solo in a television show called The Pilita and Jackie Show in 1982, but he was finally noticed after his performances in the TV shows Germspesyal and Penthouse Live.
A tri-media artist (film, radio & television) he has succesfully produced 26 albums, three of them released internationally, including a Christian inspired album called Out of the Dark.
In 1998 he became the first UNICEF National Ambassador of Goodwill for the Philippines. Valenciano recently released with Concert King Martin Nievera called “As 1″, their 1st collaboration album in 2009
